About Magicians. Magic. A Rough Guide
It was string theory that finally explained magicians unique abilities
The strings inside magicians and sorcerers have a stronger entanglement with the other realms or universes. By moving their hands in a particular way, magicians trigger a chain reaction that resonates down to the very strings inside them. Those spaces behave the same way an amplification chamber of a guitar amplifies the sound made by the string vibrating.
The resonance opens up a temporary rift to other realities where the laws of nature and physics behave very differently.
Many rights activists see the criminalisation and treatment of magicians as an attack on creativity and freedom; pointing to the fact that no magician has ever killed or injured anyone.
The majority of magicians who have evaded capture or execution have, with the help of hackers, created new identities. There is a large community in Brighton where policing, like in all coastal towns, is lax.
Almost all magicians are followers of a Primary Religious Leader; adhering to the actual known words spoken by the main leaders of the faith rather than following the institutional practices which they see as a purely human and mundane development instigated by people seeking power, wealth or control and exploiting the needs of ordinary people seeking spiritual leadership and guidance.
No magician has every harmed or killed anyone yet they are treated as terrorists by the government.
All magicians have two common traits. The first is that for magicians, the experienced reality is simply subjective attention from one point of view focussed on just one emergence from an infinite range of probabilities. Their eyesight is such that the edges of their vision consists of a very thin blurry perimeter. This is due to the potential possible shape and direction reality can take beyond their immediate range of attention – in accordance with string theory and the physical laws of probability.
The second trait magicians have in common is hyperthymesia, they remember everything they see, hear or sense in this reality.
There is a third trait that is unique to each magician; the innate magical ability they are born with. Other incantations have to be learned by observation and practice. Since all books on magic have been taken by the government, the only way magicians can learn other incantations is by being shown them by other magicians; which occurs whenever they meet.
